Let’s get to know Makenzie💖
Tell us a little about yourself and how did you start gaming / creating content?
Hi! I’m Snaccdaddysims or Makenzie! My husband and I have been married just over a year and have two dogs, two cats, a turtle, a freshwater planted fish tank, and a saltwater reef tank. We may or may not be animal lovers! I stream on Twitch and I focus mainly on The Sims 4. I absolutely love building and creating whatever my mind may desire that day, but you may catch me doing some gameplay now and then! I’ve always had the Sims in my life, even if I wasn’t the one playing!
My older sister had The Sims 3 and she would LET ME watch over her shoulder while she would play the game, and that’s where the obsession began. I began streaming in February of 2023 when I moved 500 miles away from all of my family and friends. I was in a new location with no family or friends around with a job that I was not valued at and I needed to make a change. My husband encouraged me to try streaming and just see where it went and….here we are!
Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming?
We of course love spending time with all of our animals and maintaining our fish tanks. I am also a lover of all things crafty, even though I may not always be good at them! My husband and I are also huge beer nerds so you may catch us going to a new local brewery on a weekend!
What all-time favorite gaming memory/achievement do you have?
My favorite achievement so far has been hitting 1K on Twitch. It was the first time I really said to myself “Okay, I can do this. There may be something here” and that magical moment when it clicked was priceless to me.
Are there any specific tools or gear that have improved your cozy gaming experience?
Definitely my dino nugget plushie and heated blanket! My husband got me a heated blanket when we were dating back in high school and this guy has followed us through 3 moves and I could not live without it! My dino nugget plushie I got for Christmas from my father-in-law this year and it’s truly been a game changer! It’s something to have resting in your lap (if there’s no cat there) or you can put it behind you for an extra bit of back support!
Can you share a memorable interaction or story involving your friends or community?
My most memorable interaction has to be with my husband when the cameras were off and I was making dinner. I was suffering with some pretty bad imposter syndrome, as a lot of creators do, and I asked if he ever thought it would be easier if I just quit. I was cooking bacon and at that very moment the bacon in the pan popped so violently and hit me in the arm, almost as like a “GIRL YOU BETTER NOT” and my husband just said, “yeah. what the divine bacon said.” I have had so many heartwarming moments as a creator that I will always cherish, but I do always think about that day with the divine bacon.
What are your plans and goals as a gaming influencer?
My plans and goals are to create a fun, positive, loving environment where people can come to celebrate their wins or be cheered up after a bad day. I strive to do the best I can every day as a creator and hopefully make someone smile.
Do you have a favorite cozy playlist/song?
Anything lofi! I love looking up lofi versions of different genre songs and seeing if I can pick them out!
Is there someone from the gaming community you’d like to spotlight or recommend to our audience?
I would love to give a special shoutout to my mods empressinfern0, beanzinapot, jarra119, dapekingduck, and gloomygrave. They are such amazing people and they help keep our community safe and loving. I appreciate them so much…MODLOVE!
Would you rather spend a rainy day, snuggled up playing your favorite cozy game, or venture out on a bright sunny day for a co-op gaming session with friends?
I love rainy days when streaming! I usually have my two favorite items with me and sometimes my cat Cedar likes to join and sit on my lap to keep me extra cozy. Something about the sound of the rain and some good cozy items just puts me in a good mood!
